Powder coating

Conventional liquid spray paints are highly flammable and full of solvents, which contain high quantities of volatile organic compounds (or VOCs) which produce emissions that are damaging to the environment and can be harmful to human health.

At doxis we have invested in an in house powder coating installation because we believe that powder coating is not only a superior paint system but because it is more environmental friendely than convantional liquid spray paints.

Because no solvents are present, powder coating is an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative to traditional liquid paints. Unlike other finishes, powder coatings don’t contain heavy metals such as cadmium and lead.

Powder coating helps to eliminate wastage. As the application is done electrostatically, some powders which are over-sprayed can be collected and reused once more, which means less waste and less energy and resources are required to produce more powder.

The nature of powder coating means that it requires significantly less packing than a liquid spray. This also means that more can be transported at once resulting in less fuel required for transportation.

Aluminium

Doxis has chosen to work with a specialised aluminium extrusion company that will work with a maximum content of recycled aluminium for its extrusion process and green energy.

Depending on the specific profile, this means that 75-90% of the mass is from recycled materials. A requirement we set forward was that the recycled materials are collected in the neighboorhood of the extrusion facility (150km), and are not imported from overseas… .

Waste sorting

We believe that when waste is sorted at the source, the possibilities for recycling are kept open. This is why we sort our waste in different categories and work with specialied recycling companies who take care the second life of these materials.

We love to work with local entrepreneurs, to keep lines short and transportation distances even shorter.
